About El
My curiosity about human behaviour and emotions has been present for most of my life. I have always been someone who learns through experience and through the body, being active in sport from a young age and later building a career in Outdoor Education.
For over ten years I worked as an Outdoor Education guide, leading multi-day journeys for young people through challenging environments, hiking, canoeing, rock climbing and rafting. While these adventures were physically demanding, a large part of my role was actually supporting people through the emotional experiences that arise when we step into challenge and discomfort.
When the world slowed down in 2020, I found myself with the opportunity to pause from a fast-paced lifestyle of constant travel and guiding. During this time I began tending more deeply to my own inner world and the state of my nervous system..
It was during this time that I realised how disconnected I had become from my own body. I even discovered that I had broken my wrist two years earlier without knowing. I started to ask questions about myself and the state my body and mind was in. I was experiencing panic attacks, nervous breakdowns, uncontrollable emotional outbursts, dysfunctional relationships with people and substances and responding to life from my constant state of being in survival mode.
This moment became a turning point.
Through breathwork and somatic practices & talk therapy, I began reconnecting with my body in a way I never had before. I started learning how the nervous system stores stress, trauma, and emotional patterns — and how the body naturally knows how to process and release these experiences when given the right conditions.
Over the years that followed, through both personal practice and professional training, Eluminate was formed.
My intention is simple: to bring a little more light into people's lives and support them in reconnecting with themselves through breath, movement, sound and body awareness.

My Philosophy

I believe the body holds an innate wisdom. When I started somatic work, is when things started to really shift, and I see this time and time again with the people I work with.
When we learn to listen to the sensations, emotions and signals within our bodies, we begin to understand ourselves in a completely different way.
Many of us have never been taught how to understand our nervous system or the way our bodies respond to stress. Instead, we often learn to suppress, numb or override these signals.
This work is about rebuilding that connection.
Through breathwork, somatic practices and nervous system education, the body is supported to release stored tension, regulate itself, and develop a greater capacity to move through life’s experiences.
Healing the nervous system takes time, presence and patience. No two nervous systems are the same so there is not one model fits all, each person requires different attention and support... If you are wanting to make change, then you are in the right place.
